We've amalgamated our knowledge and connoisseurial insight into a comprehensive party planning tool called Build-A-Vibe. This tool is available to all of our clients after they have booked. The guide you're currently reading is intended to be used in conjunction with the Build-A-Vibe planning tool to create an atmosphere for your special day perfect for you!
Our 'Wheelhouse Entertainment' party scientists conducted a fictional, randomized, double blind, placebo controlled study on the effects of our party strategy in the Wheelhouse Laboratories. The results concluded that when coupled together, the Build-A-Vibe party planner and this How to Party Guide will yield results that will leave your guests with sore feet and fond memories. You can be as "hands-on" or "hands-off" as you want to be with the music selection.
Option A: Leave it up to us. Our Pros are meticulously trained at reading dance floors and curating playlists that will suit the needs of any event. So you can just leave it up to us if you choose!
Option B: If you have a more specific vision for the music you can make a your own playlist that our Pros will use. ⚠️Caution: Wheelhouse Productions is not responsible for any less-than-desirable results from playing music from a playlist that we have not chosen. 😉 Which leads us to...
Option C: The hybrid. With our Build-A-Vibe tool you can let us know the artists and genres that you like. You can choose your songs for the special moments and let our Pros fill in where needed.
Example: (For a wedding) Client chooses the bridal walk, grand introduction, and first dance songs. Their genre preference is Top 40, Hip-Hop, and Reggae. Our Pro play the special songs at the specified times. They choose some chilled out lo-fi hip hop and Bob Marley for the background music during dinner. Then, it's on to Lizzo, Bruno Mars, and Beyonce for the dance party. ✔️✔️✔️
Stumped on song selection?
No worries! There are many great website that can help you choose your special songs. We recommend the website My Wedding Songs. There you will be able to browse thousands of suggestions and start making your request list.
☝️Pro Tip : Create a new playlist on Apple, Spotify, Tidal, or YouTube for the event. Then from now until the day-of just jam out like you normally do (e.g. in the car, walking the cat, in the shower, under your bed). When you hear a song you might want to hear at the party, just add it to the playlist. Once you have all of your special songs and requests simply add the URLs in the Build-A-Vibe tool and we will take it from there!* BOOM!

*Keep in mind, we don't DJ from streaming services. We utilize them as a planning and research tool. We only use music that is licensed through professional DJ software. So, we're all legit!
What about song requests on the day of?
We can play any requests you have even at the last minute! We have thousands of songs in our library. If we don't have something, we can find it-no problem. With that being said, there are some venues that are in limited cellular service areas an do not offer Wi-Fi. In those cases, we do our best but can't make any guarantees.

You can also choose for us to take requests from your guests. However, we use extreme discretion when playing requests from guests so we can avoid any inappropriate songs that may not fit the vibe you are looking for. Also, sometimes the guests have so many requests we can't possibly play all of them. With that being said, anything that is requested by the client we will absolutely play.
